There are two types of Alerts in Stock Rover: Daily and Once, attributed in the ‘When’ column in the Alerts facility. Some alerts, such as the price crossing a specified threshold, are triggered just once and then are disabled. You can manually re-enable this alert by clicking the curved clock arrow in the ‘Reactivate’ column in the Alerts window.
‘Daily’ alerts, such as the price increasing a certain percent, will automatically reactivate the next time the market opens. Changing any setting on an alert also reactivates it.

Clicking on this will display the window below and set a date range where alerts will not be sent out.
By default there is a limit on the number of emails per day and text messages per day. The default number of emails a day are 6 and the default number of text messages per day are 4. To change this click on the ‘Alert Throttle’ pull down in the top right hand corner. This will bring up the window where you can change the value.
Behaviors
Note that alerts on individual tickers are independent of alerts on portfolios and watchlists that contain that ticker. A consequence of this is a ticker can have effectively have multiple tests on the same metric. For example an alert at the ticker level may be for a daily percentage price decrease of 2%, and an alert at the portfolio level could be for a daily percentage decrease of 3%. If the ticker is in the portfolio, it effectively has two alerts set, one for a 2% or greater daily decline and one for a 3% or greater daily decline.
Limits
In order to prevent an overload of received email or text alerts, there are limits that have been imposed on the number of emails and text alerts that will be sent out per day. The limits are as follows:
