Overview
I’m Howard Reisman the CEO of Stock Rover. This is the second part of a two part video series on the Insight Panel. The first video covered the Insight Panel summary tab, which is loaded with detailed information for a selected stock, ETF or fund. In this video we are going to cover the other parts of the Insight Panel, including Sales and EPS, Dividends, Financial Statements, Analysts and News.
So let’s dive in.
The Summary Tab
We will start with Apple as our example stock. As you can see, the first tab in the Insight Panel is the Summary panel, and this was fully covered in the Insight Panel part one video.
The EPS Tab
The Second tab is the EPS Panel, which is designed to you a clear and succinct picture of the sales, EPS and cash flow performance of a company over time, both in graphical and tabular form. You can set the time period to 5 years, 10 years or everything we’ve got. And you can change between the quarterly and yearly display.
The tables are designed to make it very easy to compare quarters and years for sales, earnings per share and cash flow. The table include future estimate data, as does the chart.
The Dividends Tab
The third tab is the dividend tab. Here you will find everything you ever wanted to know about a company’s dividend story. A chart shows the yearly progression of dividend payments along with the price performance of the stock superimposed on the background. The calendar shows all the declaration and payment dates for a dividend. Also included is upcoming dividend information, as well as information on the dividend rate the stock pays. Key dividend statistics are displayed, including payout ratio as well as its inverse, dividend coverage ratio. Also included are the dividend growth rates over different periods of time so you can ascertain whether dividend growth is slowing or not.
The Statements Tab
The next tab is the Statements panel. This is a very powerful panel with four major parts. The Income Statement, The Balance Sheet, the Cash Flow Statement and a summary tab that has key parts of each of the three statements together along with some other key information on profitability and dividends.
One of the neat features of the Statements panel is the CAGR or Combined Annual Growth Rate column, so you can see how a line item has changed over time percentage wise.
The column next to it is the TTM column, which means the Trailing Twelve Months.
Statements can be viewed with or without the chart. The data can be viewed in three different modes; yearly, quarterly or quarter vs quarter for a given quarter. We think this is a really cool feature.
You can see the data by $ or by % or even by the change from the prior period, which we think is another particularly powerful feature. You can order the columns in ascending or descending date order and you can export the data to a spreadsheet.
There is also a panel where you can see a company’s filings.
The Analysts Tab
Let’s now switch to the analysts tab. The Analysts tab has detailed data on the analyst communities’ estimates and target price for a company as well as data on how those estimates are changing over time.
The News Tab
Finally there is the news panel where company specific news is available. Any selected news story opens up in another browser tab.
Conclusion
Well that will do it for the Insight Panel. There was a lot to cover. I hope you found this video useful. I encourage you to explore Stock Rover and see all that is offered as well as check out our other educational videos on our website. Thank you for watching.
